From the Kirkbie Kendal School
To thrive and grow into mature, well-rounded young adults, Kirkbie Kendal School's sixth-form pupils adhere to the school's key values of "Care, Courtesy, Consideration, and Hard Work." Students can pursue their selected 3 or 4 A-Levels in an environment that encourages them all to reach their best potential because of the accepting and pleasant culture. Students leave KKS to attend the institution of their choice, whether it is nearby, farther away, or even abroad. If they decide that this option is not for them, we assist them in applying for a higher level apprenticeship or in entering the workforce. We place a high value on the pastoral care of the students, and the most recent Ofsted report notes that this is true: "Students get good care, advice, and support from academic and pastoral personnel." Small tutor groups with a seasoned Sixth Form teacher are used for instruction. To help students make the most of their time, a weekly tutoring programme was developed with their input. Our sixth-form students assume leadership roles and participate actively in school life, and we are very proud of them. We think that every student has a unique route to take, and we will provide them the chance to hone their leadership abilities and get ready for greater independence in order to take their next steps outside of the classroom.
