Our vision and mission statements guide all we do at John Stainer.
We'll give your kid these things. At John Stainer, emphasis has been placed on creating a learning environment where students are taught to be as calm, kind, and polite as possible while also igniting their passion for and enthusiasm for learning.
Every youngster should, in our opinion, have a healthy sense of self-worth and be prepared to contribute positively in the future.
We value each child's diversity and individuality at our school, and through a values-based approach, we challenge all students to reach their full potential and become contributing, engaged citizens.
We consider these to be fundamental British Values.
Each year, six values are introduced, one per semester.
During Black History Week and Culture Day celebrations, we teach the kids about equality, freedom, and pride as part of this school value. We also teach them about the value of others, growing as a person, the value of empathy and humanity, and caring for our global community as part of our Harvest Festival.
This is a highly admirable organisation because many children have little chance of attending school if they don't have a pair of shoes.
The students at John Stainer School graciously donated 251 pairs of shoes in response, helping to raise an incredible 816.47.
When we helped The Giraffe Mobile Education Project last year, we saw how our contributions may help some of Ghana's most underprivileged children gain access to books and reading.
Our favourite week of the year is held in John Stainer during the second half of the autumn term.
We organise a "Cool To Be Kind week" to recognise the importance of kindness, during which everyone at the school engages in random acts of kindness and makes an extra effort to be kind to others.
We emphasise the importance of friendship during the first half of the spring term.
This benefits them in the classroom by enabling them to get ready for their lessons and by giving them tips for maintaining a healthy mind and a positive outlook on life.
Building children's resilience, perseverance, peace, thanks, and self-esteem is central to our definition of happiness.
The children learn about the importance of honesty at the start of our summer semester.
Additionally, we stress the significance of British Values like democracy and free speech.
John Stainer School went to the polls when it was the General Election, with hustings taking place in Year 6 and then campaigns and speeches by the elected candidates.
We finally concentrate on the value of respect in the final quarter of the school year.
As children are moving up to the next year group, and our Year 6 children are preparing for secondary transfer, we make sure that all the children in the school understand about respect for themselves and others.
At John Stainer we have very respectful pupils, and visitors to our school often comment about the excellent manners and behaviour displayed by our children.
Excellent systems are in place to make sure that pupils' behaviour is outstanding".
