The Skylark Partnership includes the Alternative Provision Academy known as Hospital and Outreach Education (HOE). Children and young people with complicated medical and/or mental health requirements who are unable to attend school full-time are given educational support by HOE. It is physically organised into three areas that cover the North and South of the county and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHs) Units, respectively, and it covers all of Northamptonshire. At the three Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) Units in Northampton as well as the Kettering and Northampton General Hospitals, there are two teaching facilities. Additionally, there are two outreach teaching locations for HOE, one in Kettering and one in Northampton. The HOE team is headed by Cath Kitchen and consists of qualified teachers, senior learning support assistants (SLSA), higher level teaching assistants (HLTA), family liaison workers (FLW), and a team of business support personnel under the direction of a school business manager (SBM). To assist children and young people in identifying and celebrating their strengths, overcoming challenges, managing a medical or mental health condition, and re-engaging in lifelong learning, all staff members are suitably trained and use a variety of skills and engagement approaches. Additionally, we collaborate closely with multi-agency partners from the Health, CAMHS, other County Council teams, and personal advisors from Prospects. Students that receive an education through HOE might range in age from 4 to 18 years old and in terms of ability. The majority have separate mainstream or special school accounts.
