From the Highwood Primary School
We hope that the Highwood Primary School website gives you useful, up-to-date details about our school and its top-notch amenities.
Although Highwood Primary School was initially founded in 1949, it has subsequently had a complete rebuild and relocated to Mead Way in Bushey from its original location on Bushey Mill Lane.
After a catastrophic flood in June 2016, the school undertook extensive restoration work. It took more than 2 years to accomplish these repairs, but we were able to reopen the school and all of its wonderful facilities in time for the 2018 autumn semester.
Highwood is a lively, active, and futuristic school for kids ages three to eleven.
At Highwood, we actively work to improve each child's educational experience.
Knowing that teaching is our first goal, we make every effort to provide the greatest services.
Our courtyards and zoned curriculum areas, which are located in the centre of the school, are created to enhance children's learning by facilitating hands-on exploration and a variety of play opportunities.
Our schools' grounds are beautifully planted and intended to foster kids' curiosity and respect for their surroundings. The children's spiritual, moral, cultural, and social experiences are meant to be enriched by our pond, allotment, wild spaces, and amphitheatre space, among other amenities.
Our school's diverse student body reflects the neighborhood's international character.
We have a good selection of lunchtime and after-school activities that are hosted by staff members and independent organisations.
Our governing body is dedicated to leading Highwood with ambition. The governors provide the senior leadership team with high levels of support and a considerable amount of challenge.
The Friends of Highwood are proactive and benevolent in their willingness to volunteer their time to plan entertaining activities that significantly increase the amount of money raised for our school.
The professional learning community that Highwood has built is something we are proud of.
We value your well-considered opinions because they force us to reevaluate our objectives and plan for changes at Highwood, a school that is, in our opinion, only getting better.
