From the Heronsgate School
The school first opened in April 1989 and now consists of 17 classrooms, a music room, modern foreign languages room, art, DT and science area, school hall, library and a learning support base. We have extensive grounds including football pitches, athletics track, shade sails, trim trails, hard surface playground, a covered reading gazebo and numerous smaller play areas. Our 2 internal courtyards house our wonderful chickens and the gardening club plants and produces a variety of fruits and vegetables as shown in more detail elsewhere on the website. We provide 3 covered bike and scooter shelters, and a staff and disabled users car park, however there is no on-site parking for parents or drop of/collection areas. There are just over 500 students enrolled in years 3, 4, 5, and 6 for the 2016–17 school year (Key stage 2).
