From the Heath Park
An established and incredibly successful inner-city community school with a diverse ethnic population is Heath Park.
Our curriculum, which tries to maximise each student's potential and increase their sense of value, reflects this diversity and is promoted across the school.
With a sixth form that is quickly increasing and that we share with Moseley Park as part of a consortium with four other schools, we now have 1179 pupils enrolled.
The Heath Park curriculum incorporates ideas from the twenty-first century and offers pupils the chance to acquire a set of qualities, abilities, and attitudes that will help them create, flourish under pressure, gain confidence and self-reliance, and be open to change.
Our two-year Key Stage 3 curriculum serves as an illustration of how we approach teaching and learning in novel ways.
The goal of the thematic curriculum is to develop more independent learners who are better prepared to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the remaining years of their formal education and, more crucially, to meet the challenges of "lifelong learning."
At Heath Park, we're dedicated to raising standards and are always looking for new methods to do so.
We have students who excel. The school's value added measure is in the top one percentile nationwide based on Key Stage 4 results.
The Executive Headteacher and the Headteacher are the only two individuals selected in the City from the secondary phase who are National Leaders of Education.
In addition to playing a significant part in the execution of a two-year leadership development programme in South Yorkshire, Heath Park has provided the complete gamut of improvement programmes to schools in a number of local authorities.
We have established the Central Learning Partnership Trust (CLPT), a multi-academy single shared trust, as a further expansion of our school to school support.
