Glenbrook is a great school with a rich curriculum including specialist teaching in Art & Design, Music and PE. We have a beautiful light-filled building and extensive grounds including a Forest School area. Children start in Nursery in a nurturing environment with tailored indoor and outdoor provision to ensure they develop and flourish in all areas of learning. Every area of the curriculum is enriched with educational visits to inspire our children, from Kew Gardens to Hampton Court to the Science Museum and attending the first ever children’s picnic at the Chelsea Flower Show! Our School Council and pupil leaders visit the UK Parliament as part of Democracy Week. We have regular themed learning days as a whole school to bring subjects alive: Spanish Day, Sustainability Day and Victorians History Day have been highlights this year. Every year we create a whole-school art installation on Global Arts Day.

Glenbrook pupils achieve exceptionally well by the end of Year 6. In 2023 attainment was better than National in all core subjects. Maths results are very high with all children developing their mathematical proficiency through knowledgeable and skilful teaching. Our wider curriculum ensures that pupils are inspired in all subjects. In History, pupils use primary and secondary sources to ignite their interest in every topic. We have our own History timelines that link World, British and local events to help children make connections. We have fieldwork days for all classes where pupils learn as Geographers and gather and present information about their local area. In computing we use micro:bits for coding and in Years 1-6 we learn Spanish. As well as weekly music lessons, Glenbrook pupils can learn the guitar, drums or piano. All children learn to play the ukulele in Year 4.

Glenbrook is a special place where we all achieve together. The atmosphere for learning is calm and purposeful with all children and staff taking immense pride in our school. We are ambitious for all our pupils and have fantastic partnerships with St Thomas’s Foundation, Emanuel School and Dulwich College to offer every opportunity to our pupils. When families join our school they become part of our community and every family helps make Glenbrook an even better and more welcoming place to learn.

Glenbrook Primary School Reviews

As a retired head I follow several Primary schools via their websites and other social media routes. I have also visited several Lambeth schools. Glenbrook shines out because of the richness of the curriculum provision, the caring commitment of the staff team and the nurturing of the pupils. The pride in their school stands out in the uptodate sharing of information and pictures and the celebration of achievements. Schools in Inner London boroughs are facing...
Child Matters was invited to deliver First Aid Training for all the pupils at Glenbrook School. Over 2 days we ran sessions of varying lengths from 1.5hrs to 2.5hrs meeting the full Junior First Aid Curriculum. Every class and age group participated and engaged well throughout the sessions. The children were polite and inquisitive, confident o to both ask and answer questions. Staff welcomed me as a visitor to the school making me comfortable and...
My children attended Glenbrook for many years and they loved every moment of it. As an ex parent I can’t say any bad words about the school or its staff. Every one of their teachers take really good care of the kids and take good pride in their work. My children have english as an additional language and they were very well supported by a bespoke programme made by Glenbrook. They also support their local...
Glenbrook Primary School stands as a beacon of excellence in inclusive education, earning a stellar reputation for its outstanding Special Education Needs department. The school's commitment to providing an equitable and supportive learning environment for all students is nothing short of remarkable. This supportive setting helps boost the children’s confidence and independence, encouraging...
I have worked at Glenbrook Primary School for the last 5 years as a volunteer. It is a haven of peace and calm for the children, run by the most caring, child centered team. The children are friendly, curious, polite and confident around the school, greeting visitors with a hello and holding doors open. Children are offered a wide variety of school trips, enrichment opportunities and positions of responsibility as they go through the school....
My three children were attending another school before transferring them to Glenbrook which was the best decision I could have made. Firstly, the school has been on Clarence Avenue for many years despite its beautiful new modern appearance. The school values its pupils hard work and posts them on the school walls; some of the work is viewable from the school office as the main entrance is met by their lovely vibrant school library. My...
I have had the great privilege of volunteering at Glenbrook with my therapy dog for the past two years. I read with children from all year groups. Glenbrook is a wonderful school with kind & dedicated teachers. The children are delightful and respectful. We enjoy our weekly visits & are made to feel very welcome. Any child would be very lucky to be educated in this calm and caring environment.

Glenbrook is a lovely school, with a very organised and calm atmosphere. I read with children across all year groups and I have been very impressed with their attitude, manners and kindness towards me and my therapy dog. It is always a delight to read with the children. I have worked for an organization providing additional support to Glenbrook pupils for the last decade. Glenbrook has a loyal and dedicated team of staff who understand the needs of the children who attend. They know how to gently encourage their pupils towards excellence in their learning and achievement. Where issues come up with friendships and relationships between pupils, which they do in all schools, the staff team are keenly aware and employ effective methods...
We have had the pleasure of providing Glenbrook with PE provision for over ten years. It's a wonderful single form entry school with a great leadership team, who are passionate about providing children with all the opportunities they deserve. The rebuilt school is a lovel facility, with lots of space and breka out spaces to support all children across the school. Our coaches have the benefit of using a brilliant playground space and a well...
