From the George Romney Junior School
The George Romney Junior School is a community junior school that has been serving the kids and families of Dalton since it was formally inaugurated in 1981.
Originally intended to be "open plan," the school now has classrooms, additional learning areas, an ICT suite, a designated art room, a main hall, a recently renovated library, and "The Den," which houses our after-school programme.
The school, which has the name of the well-known portrait painter who was born in Dalton, has a history of maintaining strong academic standards across the curriculum and has developed special expertise in the arts and sports.
The greatest way to describe how we as a school view learning and how we engage with the community is in our vision statement. George Romney is a welcoming and secure learning environment.
We encourage our kids to develop into good citizens and acquire the knowledge and principles necessary for thriving in the twenty-first century.
Every week, we celebrate our "Core Values," which the staff and governors carefully selected and which all students recognise as being essential to making our school "a happy place to learn."
