You may read about how our excellent school participates in sport here.
15 students from our school participated in a cross-country race at QEGS back in September (our local secondary school).
Key Stage 2 students competed in a triathlon event at Derby's Woodlands School at the beginning of last year.
In Ashbourne, we were one of the only schools to attend.
In order to earn money for the British Heart Foundation, the fundraisers swam up to 50 lengths.
Participants included parents, instructors, and past pupils.
Since we started participating in this event three years ago, we have so far raised an incredible 1600!
Years 5 and 6 travelled to QEGS at the beginning of the year to participate in an athletic competition.
The different sports included sprinting and speed bounce.
One of our favourite moments of the year was completing the basketball festival at QEGS in January by winning every game we played in.
Man of the match awards were often given to two team members.
Some of our kids participated in the Hi 5 tournament at QEGS in March of this year.
As a school, we host a variety of after-school activities throughout the year that are well-liked and well-attended by students in all year groups.
Our students get a taste of new sports and abilities through clubs like tag rugby, basketball, hi 5, hockey, orienteering, and multi skills, to name a few.
Orienteering, a new club that was created this year, has been particularly well-liked, drawing in more than half the student body.
All of the exercises required us to use our map-reading abilities, which we will also employ at an orienteering event later in the summer term.
We are quite fortunate to have new playthings at school.
