We are happy to announce Professor Geoff Layer's appointment as Fircroft College's Chair of Governors. Vice Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton is Professor Layer. Dr. Cheryl Turner, who served as the college's chair for a number of years and for whom we are incredibly thankful for her commitment, direction, and support, is replaced by Geoff. According to Geoff, I'm thrilled to have been chosen to serve as the Governing Body's Chair. We also warmly welcome Eluned Jones and Carole Parkes as two additional governors to the governing body. Eluned served as the University of Birmingham's Director of Student Employability from 2010 to 2020, and in 2020 the Queen's Birthday Honours gave her an MBE for her contributions to career development in higher education. Carole is an Emeritus Professor of Responsible Management and Leadership who has worked in both business and academia. Since its beginnings in 2007, Carole has fought for the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) (whilst at Aston Business School). More information about all three of our new governors is available on our website.
