Quick insights from ofsted Powered by AI

This insight was generated by AI, based on latest Ofsted report.

Foundational Skills: Leaders introduced a whole-school approach to teaching reading in September. This approach includes a new phonics programme.
Success of the Curriculum: Leaders are working hard to improve the quality of education. The new curriculum sets out the knowledge that pupils will learn in each subject from early years to Year 6.
Areas Needing Improvement: The recently introduced curriculum is not being implemented well enough in all classes and subjects, including English.
Behaviour and Attitudes: Pupils behave well in lessons and during breaktimes. They are thoughtful, kind and considerate of each other.
Performance in Maths & Reading: Some pupils who are falling behind with their reading are not supported well enough to help them catch up.
Support for Falling Behind: Leaders should ensure that all staff are trained to implement the school鈥檚 new phonics programme effectively.
Support for SEND Pupils: Pupils with SEND study the same subjects as other pupils. However, lesson activities and extra support are not consistently planned well to meet their needs.
Managing Bullying and Pupil Safety: Pupils say that bullying is rare and that if it does happen, it is usually sorted out quickly.
Promotion of Welfare and Safety: Since the previous inspection, there have been improvements to site security so that pupils can play more safely than before.
Parent Feedback: Most parents and carers are positive about the school. They are pleased that recently there have been fewer staff changes.

Welcome to the website for The Dassett Primary School and to this great, joyful, and active institution. Although I only started attending the school in January 2019, I have already felt completely supported and welcomed by both the school and the larger community. Particularly the students are a joy to be around. In the morning, they eagerly and with grins greet me. They practically waltz into class. The teachers work really hard and are committed to giving the students the greatest, most engaging education possible. We have put a lot of effort into establishing our processes and principles this term in order to provide students and staff with an engaging, secure, and joyful learning environment. We support actions that enable us to perform at our best and, in turn, enable us to support others in performing at their best. At The Dassett, we appreciate parents' opinions and encourage visitors to our school. After all, parents are the children's primary teachers. In light of this, we implore all Dassett residents to support our goals. All students should be able to learn in a safe setting that promotes respect for one another and the environment. Regardless of gender, age, or religious beliefs, we make sure that everyone feels cherished and respected. We prepare students for the next phase of their education as well as for life as mature, capable, and responsible young adults. We put a lot of effort into maximising each student's potential. If you would like to visit our school, please don't hesitate to contact us and make a appointment. We would love to see you.
