The basic British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for people of all religions and beliefs must be "actively promoted" at all schools, and these institutions must have a clear plan for doing so.
We routinely reaffirm these beliefs at Curry Mallet Primary School through assemblies, in-class instruction, and extracurricular activities.
Children have numerous opportunity to have their voices heard at our rights-respecting school.
Year 6 students as a whole have visited the Houses of Parliament and met our neighbourhood representative.
Through our PSHE curriculum and assemblies, we emphasise the value of the law. Official visitors from the police and fire department add to this message.
The curriculum teaches the kids how to exercise their rights securely, and they have a great understanding of what those rights are.
Since we are a school that respects human rights, respect is at the core of everything we do.
The curriculum as a whole reinforces the children's strong knowledge of what respect implies.
Children are given the chance to visit places of worship and local religious leaders are invited to lead assemblies in schools.
Every student in KS 2 has been to a variety of churches in Bristol.
