From the Corngreaves Academy
The oldest educational facility in the Sandwell borough is Corngreaves Primary School.
To educate the children of their employees, the British Iron Company constructed the school in 1848–1849. At the time, it consisted of two separate buildings that were not connected in any way.
It has changed significantly over time, but certain aspects have remained the same.
We have always had a positive reputation in the community and have been known as a "happy" school.
The building has undergone a number of significant renovations in recent years, and while the exterior still has a "Victorian" appearance, the interior now has classrooms that are appropriate for a 21st-century education.
We have access to a wide variety of instructional resources and facilities in modernised classrooms.
Each classroom supports the kids' development, and there is a lot of uniformity throughout the school.
iPads and computers are available at the school and are utilised to improve instruction.
