From the Clare Community Primary School
Clare Community Primary School, in our opinion, is a very special place where we all collaborate to help our students become successful learners, self-assured individuals, and responsible citizens.
We take great pride in our connections to the local community and some of the larger-scale events in which we have participated. For example, for the past two years, our school choir has joined more than 8,000 students from other schools to perform at the Young Voices concert at the O2.
We frequently take advantage of the excellent learning opportunities that are right outside our door. This year, Year 1 participated in Forest Schools at Clare Country Park, and Years 2 through 6 participated in a variety of activities there, including team-building, collaborative learning, and Drama.
Additionally, we have developed relationships with other neighbourhood schools, sharing best practises and participating in frequent sporting events and other team activities.
We are establishing relationships with Stour Valley Community School as a part of the recently established Stour Academy Trust, taking advantage of their resources for subjects like Design, Communications, and Technology, as well as their drama studio and outdoor swimming pool, in order to improve the abilities and knowledge of both staff and students.
Children are taught at Clare that making errors is healthy and that developing resilience is the key to success.
We take pride in having a culture with high aspirations.
We strive to succeed in whatever we do and are always looking for new challenges. Three things are crucial in life: kindness is the first, kindness is the second, and kindness is the third.
This is likely the most significant aspect of our ethos, and it is a value that we work tirelessly to instil in our students through the manner that we conduct lessons, the way that we interact with one another, and the behaviour that we value.
Every student at our school, from the youngest students in reception to the sixth-graders, as well as every member of our teaching and learning staff, is viewed as a special individual with talents to share with others.
Learning should be enjoyable, so we add chances for creative and innovative learning, learning through play, and use of the outdoor classroom and our surroundings, including excursions to nearby points of interest and resources, whenever we can, to our curriculum.
Every year, we have a three-day residential for our Year Six students, and over the summer break, we have many theatre companies come to perform Shakespeare for our older students and engage in story-telling activities with KS1 and our Reception class.
We provide a variety of extracurricular activities and work to increase both the number of clubs available and the number of kids who participate in them.
