The Eco-Schools programme is the perfect method for schools to start along a meaningful path toward enhancing the environment in both the school and the neighbourhood while also making a positive, long-lasting difference in the lives of children and their families. The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) runs Eco-Schools globally, and Keep Britain Tidy is in charge of the programme in England. Eco-Schools was first implemented in 1994 in response to the 1992 UN Rio Earth Summit. In England, there are currently more than 18,600 registered Eco-Schools, and that number is rising everyday. There are three structural components to the Eco-Schools initiative. The International Green Flag Award assessment, the Seven Step Framework, and the Eco-Schools Topics The programme needs the cooperation of school administrators and active participation from staff members in order to be successful. It also needs a long-term commitment and the willingness to involve students in decision-making. The Eco-Schools Seven Steps methodology is a set of meticulously planned steps that can help schools achieve their Eco-School goals to the fullest extent possible. While the Seven Steps are the most crucial component of the Eco-Schools programme, schools also concentrate on issues including marine, biodiversity, energy, litter, global citizenship, healthy living, school grounds, transport, waste, and water to help give the programme even more structure.
