The opinions of the people who make up our community—students, parents, staff, and governors—form the basis of our vision.
We conducted an exercise with our students and the community over the summer term of 2017 to identify our values and explain what it means to be a part of Brixham College.
We were thrilled by what we discovered—a college that is a lively, amiable, and encouraging environment where success, advancement, and originality are rewarded and everyone feels like they belong.
We take pride in being an inclusive comprehensive school with the underlying conviction that a person's potential is unconstrained by their background, gender, or ethnicity and that intelligence is not fixed.
a community at our college where everyone is welcome.
Our primary goal is to give every student superior learning opportunities that enable them to advance intellectually, socially, and emotionally. This leads to exceptional student outcomes.
Along with this, we want to build a strong community for our students both inside and outside of the College. To that end, we'll give them chances and experiences.
Our goal is to give our students the knowledge, abilities, and character traits they need to succeed as citizens in the future.
To continually provide both our students and staff with opportunities for success in learning and in life.
A college where students want to attend because the curriculum suits their needs, the lessons are entertaining, and the attendance is excellent.
A college where we are the top choice for families in Brixham and Torbay not just for academic performance but also because we genuinely care about every kid, have strategies in place to address their unique needs, and guarantee that no one is left behind.
A college where students show a solid interaction with our larger community and are praised as Brixham ambassadors and admirable role models.
A college that is more than just a college, one where our young people can participate in a variety of enrichment programmes and outings that might otherwise be out of their reach.
Meaning that a wide range of enrichment programmes, residentials, and trips serve all kids regardless of disadvantage, special educational need, or intrinsic aptitude.
Within our community, there is a consensus that providing excellence—which is done by making everyone around you better—is what our students deserve.
A fundamental conviction that greatness is best delivered when there is a consensus on what is significant in our school serves as the foundation for teaching everyone better.
We advocate that academic success leads to success in life and work to equip our students to succeed in life.
Therefore, subject-based learning, the development of abilities, and an awareness of work and society are fundamental rights for all students.
We want to foster virtues like compassion, integrity, and a sense of belonging.
Students are expected to give back to the community, try things they think they can't do, persevere through difficulty, develop resilience in overcoming challenges, manage themselves, work independently on challenging tasks, collaborate with others and in teams, be brave and caring, and take the lead.
Future leaders will be students, therefore they should seize opportunities that are built for leadership and assume accountability for both themselves and others.
In the College, every adult is a leader.
Every adult is expected to take the initiative and responsibility necessary to act in our students' best interests.
The environment in which others work is created by everyone in formal leadership positions.
All leaders listen, grow relationships, act with integrity and care and expect the best from themselves and others in building a happy, confident community.
We strive for big effect with minimal expense and effort.

Brixham College Reviews

The school is awful. The staff don't do anything to support students and their physical/ mental wellbeing. All they worry about is uniform or what colour shoes you're wearing. They don't do anything if you need support. They're more worried about the little things than what students need. The school needs improvement in all areas
