Our founder, Blanche Nevile, was born on February 16, 1871. The youngest of 13 kids, Blanche was. At the age of 23, Blanche—who resided in Tottenham—became a teacher of the deaf. This was the beginning of a great career that would have a significant influence on how deaf youngsters would come to learn to communicate and take an active role in their community. On January 14, 1895, Blanche Nevile opened the school for deaf children. She worked there for 30 years. Blanche Nevile was not only a brilliant educator and tenacious headteacher, but she also travelled internationally, explored new teaching techniques, and assisted in the mentoring of a new generation of teachers of the deaf through her work with Manchester Leeds University. She founded our school, which has a continued history of leadership in terms of standards, communication strategies, and providing care and respect for every kid. Blanche Nevile would be overjoyed to see our flourishing institution today.
