Students with Moderate Learning Difficulties who are currently at least five years behind their chronological age in their academic or personal development are eligible for the Resource Base. Although this list is not all-inclusive, we deal with students who have a variety of special education requirements, such as autism, speech and language, down syndrome, and ADHD. Each year group from years 7 to 11 has a class at the Resource Base, and after that there is a separate Post-16 provision. The goal of the Resource Base is to assist students in obtaining the fundamental academic credentials and life skills required for civic participation. A main class instructor who specialises in instructing students with special educational needs teaches the students for the most of the remaining school day. We actively seek out opportunities for kids to grow personally and academically. To complement classroom instruction, we organise a variety of school outings, and we also provide an annual residential vacation where students can gain independence and life skills. If you want to apply for a seat, you must request our programme from your child's primary school's SENCO during that school's annual review. There is an Educational Health Care Plan for each child in our Resource Base (EHCP). If you have inquiries regarding your child attending our Resource Base, get in touch with Sammy Nutt, Head of the Resource Base, at [email protected] or by phone at 0117 9030159.
