It is a mixed-age primary school that combines the greatest features of a big Primary with a beautiful rural setting, serving students between the ages of 4 and 11.
We established the First Federation with another school as the first school in Devon.
The First Federation Trust, a multi-academy trust of primary schools in Devon, currently includes Blackpool School.
Recognizing its historical roots, the school will uphold and strengthen its religious identity in accordance with Church of England values and customs and in collaboration with the Church, the Parish, and the Diocese.
The school's mission is to serve the community by offering a top-notch education within the framework of Christian doctrine and practise.
Through the experiences it provides to all of its students, it promotes Christian values and encourages an appreciation of the relevance and meaning of faith.
As a church school, we promote respect for other people and their faiths while integrating our Christian values into daily instruction.
To ensure that our students have excellent access to IT resources, which are used to support many areas of learning across our curriculum, each Unit has a set of transportable laptops.
Our school kitchen just received the Soil Association Gold Standard Award, and we strive to buy a lot of our ingredients from regional, organic suppliers.
The kids have a great selection of lunches and nutritious snacks, including a salad bar that they may assist themselves to.
We provide wrap-around care from 7:30am to 6pm and have a breakfast and after-school programme.
Our PTA, FABS (Friends and Associates of Blackpool School), is a very busy group of parents who plan a variety of fundraising activities all year long, like a Country Fair and Bonfire Night.
We are fortunate that our families contribute so generously to these events, and the money raised has supported initiatives like the construction of a new hall, the purchase of laptops, and field trips for the kids to the theatre.
We actively encourage parents to collaborate with the school and maintain an open-door policy.
We are currently very lucky to have parents that operate the library, organise groups, chaperone field trips, and assist at events.
In order to further strengthen the connection between school and home, we also ask parents to participate in theme days with their children and join us for lunch.
There are many extracurricular groups available, from sports teams to those focused on art, mindfulness, IT, literature, and chess.
We also provide a variety of enrichment programmes, including journalism, forest schools, and "be a farmer for a day."
Children in years 4 and 6 go on residential trips where we have a great time practising teamwork via exciting activities.
Your child will transition to our school with ease thanks to our skilled faculty and first-rate facilities, and we look forward to making their primary education a very unique and memorable time.
