From the Sheringham Woodfields School
On the outskirts of the North Norfolk town of Sheringham, our specially designed special school is surrounded by a stunning natural setting of beaches, cliffs, woods, and marshes. We are on the same campus as Sheringham County Primary School, Sheringham High School, and Sheringham County Nursery. Our students, who come from all over the county, range in age from three to nineteen. The main school building features large classrooms, automatic doors, furniture that can be adjusted in height, and wide doorways and hallways. It has ceiling hoists, well-appointed hygiene rooms, and several specialty amenities like a music room with a resonance board big enough for an entire class. Everybody can cook thanks to the modified equipment in our teaching kitchen. The structure is also equipped with top-notch IT hardware, such as PCs, iPads, cameras, and switch-operated games and accessories. We include a hydrotherapy pool, ball pool, sensory theatre, and a wide variety of soft play items. A school garden and separate playgrounds with play structures, bicycles, tricycles, sporting goods, and games are located outside. Two lessons for our older students are housed in the Annexe, which is a section of the High School sixth form building. It is intended to provide a curriculum that helps students get ready for the next phase of their lives while putting a focus on practical life skills. It features a great kitchen with a dishwasher, washer, and dryer, as well as a common area for students to hang out and unwind in. Students who attend classes in the Annexe also use the specialised spaces in the main structure.
