My employment at the school opens a wonderful new chapter in both my personal and professional lives, and I am thrilled to be the new principal of Oakbank.
I grew up here, attended school here, and still call this place home with my wife and kids.
My entire teaching career has been spent working in schools in and around Wokingham, and as a result, I have developed a good understanding of the local educational scene, most recently in my position as Deputy Headteacher at another Wokingham secondary school.
I have followed the school's growth with interest ever since it began in 2012, therefore I was thrilled when the chance to apply for the position of principal earlier this year presented itself.
The staff here has significantly impressed me since I started working here; they are a talented and dedicated group that are a great asset to the school.
Additionally, we have filled all open positions with teaching staff, including the positions of Head of Design Technology, Head of Art and Design, and two new Math teachers.
As a result, we begin the school year with a full complement of specialists, a feat in which I take great pride and which not all nearby schools have been able to accomplish.
Making a professional and strategic vision, giving the entire school a clear direction going ahead, and establishing a focused strategy for improvement are two of my main priorities as principal.
I will make sure that the curriculum is comprehensive and balanced, as well as ambitious, difficult, and interesting for every student, in accordance with the new Ofsted framework.
I'm dedicated to creating an environment at the school where all teaching is at the highest level, where knowledge is celebrated, and where all students may succeed.
Building relationships with stakeholders is essential to any school's success, and I'm committed to making sure that going forward, we deepen our engagement with the parent body.
Recently, several parents have been in touch with me about starting a parent association, and I'm eager to see this happen.
An Oakbank Community Association, in my opinion, would also enable participation from residents in our neighbourhood.
As the new principal of Oakbank, it is my responsibility to guide faculty and students in establishing a successful school in the centre of the neighbourhood it serves. I achieve this by keeping these basic values at the forefront of everything I do.

In the words of the head of pastoral/safeguarding at the time: 鈥測our not depressed, I saw you smiling earlier鈥. I fear this sums up the mental health support given very well.
This school had to ban pencil sharpeners, scissors and compasses due to the high self harm rates in it a few years ago. Yet they wouldn鈥檛 provide support to students in need. The bullying is horrendous, the teaching is horrendous, the 鈥淗 block鈥 would regularly get soaked from rain water and have ants coming in and out through holes in the walls. This school is an unsafe and harmful environment for a person to learn,...
I was a student there from year 7 to year 11, I had my GCSEs during the few years of Covid. This school was genuinely traumatic, they don鈥檛 handle bullying, mental health support, or teacher incompetence at all. You will not learn, you won鈥檛 be happy, the only person responsible for a student to learn is the student themselves, old PowerPoint slides and random print outs is all your given. Please take your child to...
this school is a pile of dog shit. First of all the teachers are bossy and boring as fuck, second of all the students at the school are full of idiots third of all, students behaviour at that school is atrocious. i recommend you to go to a better school like emmbrook or bulmershe not oakshit
