From the Liverpool College
Visitors tell us that Liverpool College is a distinctive institution.
On a 28-acre campus in South Liverpool, The College, a state-funded academy, instructs students between the ages of 4 and 19.
Since 1840, our goal has been to provide a transformational and exceptional education in order to enable young people in Liverpool and beyond to realise their potential.
Since becoming an academy in 2013, we have been able to provide this for more students, and, most importantly, we can do so regardless of a student's capacity to pay tuition.
Our three basic Lerpoolian traits—Purpose, Passion, and Challenge—are examples of how we insist on "Learning with Character" throughout the College.
We carry out the intention of our founders for students in Reception through Year 13 by implementing our distinctive and demanding LCA+ curriculum, which is made up of seven academic and subject strands and seven strands of personal and social development.
We are able to concentrate on the needs and progress of each individual student thanks to this structure, which is supported by a passionate and committed staff and a relentless focus on teaching and learning. We also manage to keep things on a small scale, which fosters the development of positive learning relationships and pushes students to reach their full potential.
Academic studies are clearly the focus of the school and our students achieve better than predicted and expected outcomes, year after year, because of parental support, outstanding teaching, high expectations, and active guidance.
Whatever their background or ability, we want every student to graduate from Liverpool College with the best possible academic credentials and skills for pursuing higher education and other forms of training, as well as the character, love of learning, and self-assurance necessary to live a happy, fruitful, and fulfilling life.
From this year's Speech Night & Prize Giving at Liverpool Cathedral, you may download the principal's speech here.
The document for consultation on suggested tactics and steps to further enhance Liverpool College's learning environment is available here.
The College's answer to the difficulty of carrying out its goal in a growing institution is outlined in the mission review.
The study, which was conducted throughout the 2016–2017 academic year, offers ideas for the College's structure, timetable, calendar, and curriculum going ahead in 2017–2018.
The informational document about our plans to construct a new Pre-Prep building next to the current Prep School is available here for your reading pleasure.

my kid goes here, and all I can say is a lot of the teachers are very rude and money loving. Some good and genuine teachers, but most senior members are awful. They seem uninterested and rude when you bring up incidents that happened, and are generally nasty and rude. You get the sense they only care about money and don't give a shit about what you have to say. Every encounter I've had with...
Horrendous. Discipline and behaviour is awful and the good teachers leave because of bullying by senior leaders. The new Head is awful and none of the kids know who she is because never leaves her office. She hasn't taught a lesson in years.
The school is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t judge a school by its Ofsted rating. The discipline in the school is horrendous, daily fights especially between the boys in secondary. The school really just concentrate ms on the academically gifted children, leaving the majority of the children disaffected. The choice of GCSE subjects is very limited with priority given to subjects such as Classics and Latin. Very useful in 2024! There is a...
Im in year 8 rn and i feel like its the best school in liverpool i went to 4 secondary schools in liverpool and this is the best experience
This school was rated outstanding and I think that outstanding should stand for outstanding issues and failure . My daughters friend got into the school and her mother said that she was crying coz she hated the school but couldn't got to any others because it was to late in time, she is looking to transfer when the school year starts and I totally agree with her because when I was at the opening evening...
