Breckenbrough has received Secretary of State approval to operate as a Non-Maintained Special School (NMSS).
We provide day and residential placements for boys with a variety of complicated requirements, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Tourette's Syndrome (TS), and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Breckenbrough is distinct, giving a specialised, special school approach to delivering the national curriculum, much like our pupils.
We take great satisfaction in being a "specialised" school that offers a nurturing, encouraging, and low-stress atmosphere to assist the development of our kids' social and intellectual skills.
Every student enters Breckenbrough looking for a supportive, safe environment where they may be accepted and learn, following Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
Our first priority is to lower anxiety levels and make every student feel comfortable and secure in the classroom because of their negative experiences in previous settings.
A student's involvement, learning, and academic advancement all rise as they move up Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
All that we want to instil in our students—respect, tolerance, equality, understanding, and forgiveness—is based on our Quaker worldview.
We collaborate through the Friends School Council with the other eight Quaker schools and function according to a similar philosophy.
Our knowledgeable and dedicated crew provides excellent support for our students.
During their stay at Breckenbrough, these core groups play a crucial role in helping students work toward accomplishing the two main objectives.
Many instances of students who went on to have successful careers are highlighted on the school website.
Please get in touch with Gilly Charters, whose son attended the school and can offer a wealth of information, if you're interested in learning more about the institution.
