In Uplyme's village hall, a short distance from the seaside town of Lyme Regis, the Uplyme Pre-School was founded more than 50 years ago. In 1994, the organisation relocated to the new town hall. An annually chosen committee, primarily made up of parents, is responsible for the overall management of the preschools. They also serve as the employers of all staff members and make all policy decisions jointly. This is in accordance with the company's constitution, which our group accepted at an AGM.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage for children from birth to five years old; we are registered with Ofsted and undergo routine inspections.
Offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity. Provide high-quality care and education for children from 2 years old to statutory school age. Work in partnership with parents to help children learn and thrive.
We are a community-based, volunteer-run setting, thus our survival also depends on the goodwill and participation of the parents. Parents who participate in the setting must show their commitment and support.
