Time to Talk Day was created by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness in collaboration with Co-op today.
Today's focus is on dispelling the stigma associated with mental health by urging individuals to start talking.
The stigma associated with the phrase "mental health" still exists, despite the progress we've made in taking mental health issues seriously.
This stigma may contribute to the high rate of mental health problems in the UK yet low treatment adherence.
In 2021 1 in 4 people were reportedly experiencing mental health problems but studies show that only 36% of people dealing with mental health issues in the UK are receiving treatment.
These numbers make it very evident that raising awareness of mental health is crucial if we hope to alter how it is perceived.
In order to help you feel more at ease while approaching these conversations, we've put together a few United tips.
