Since 2007, the Dover Street tuition centre has been operating. Prior to relaunching as Tuition Canterbury in 2011 with new and expanded resources, it first opened as a Kip McGrath centre. Owner of Tuition Canterbury, Peter Whisson has been a teacher since 1980 and a local tutor since 2007. Students from all throughout the region receive expert, individualised instruction from Tuition Canterbury.
We cater our instruction to the specific needs of each student, from age 6 to age 16 and beyond.
Learning should be fun, engaging, and focused on helping students achieve their academic goals and succeed on tests.
Following a free evaluation, we develop individualised lesson plans that often combine computer-based learning with classic book-and-worksheet exercises. Typically, a tutorial lasts for 80 minutes.
At Tuition Canterbury, tutors are a mixture of experienced, DBS-checked, and trained teachers, as well as top-performing degree candidates from the University of Kent who are experts in math and science. The Center keeps track of progress by assigning assignments after each session. Our goal is to give students the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in a classroom or test setting.
