Schools at Treetops Preschool & Extended At the top of Pool Hill in Bridestowe in Okehampton, West Devon, Provision CIC is situated adjacent to the village hall and is positioned on the edge of Dartmoor.
The preschool receives its enrollment from the nearby villages and neighbourhood, but because to our excellent Ofsted rating, first-rate amenities, and highly qualified personnel, we also receive and warmly welcome children and families from much farther away.
When the preschool was established in 1971, it was a novel idea for a nursery nurse to care for young children because it was typical in the 1970s for mothers to raise their children at home until they were old enough to attend school.
The preschool's first location was the Sourton village hall, but in the late 1970s it was transferred to Bridestowe School.
The Extended School Club students are content at Treetops and thrive because they have the chance to interact socially with students from other nearby schools that come here.
Up until the end of July 2017, a volunteer parent committee oversaw Treetops. The committee collaborated closely with the setting manager and staff team to make sure Treetops operated smoothly and effectively.
The nonprofit organisation that we were previously to reform continues to exist, but it now just allows parents to collect money to sustain the setting.
The name of this new fundraising organisation is Friends of Treetops (FOTTS).
These modifications represent a significant advance in preserving the environment going forward.
In order to support our "freeflow" play attitude, we renovated our outside play space in 2016. We laid wet pour and put up a shelter.
We were really fortunate to have local author Michael Jecks attend along with local council members to formally open the space for us during our "Grand Opening" event for the new play area.
We anticipate complete the play area addition in 2022 and expanding the garden area around our existing apple trees so that we may grow additional fruit and veggies.
