From the Tinies Nursery York
The David Lloyd fitness centre on Hull Road houses My Ohana York.
Our nursery offers children a range of wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and have fun.
We also have a fully enclosed outdoor learning area and access to the David Lloyd sports facilities, and we can make use of these throughout the year, so we really do have everything we need to encourage young children to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
My Ohana has developed its own exclusive science-based curriculum that has been inspired by the work of some of the greatest minds in education (along with the experience and expertise of our own people) and benchmarked against Development Matters and Birth to 5 Matters.
We believe that we can make the biggest difference to a childs early development by working hand-in-hand with their parents and carers.
Together, we can supercharge their future in school, work and the wider world.
These are offered alongside our three core enrichment programmes: myHappymind, the Nursery Library and Outdoor Learning.
We are lucky to be able to offer many additional sporting activities at My Ohana York because we literally live in a health club!
By adding these extra lessons into our day we give the children exciting experiences that help them to develop physically, socially and emotionally while building the foundations for a future healthy lifestyle.
Their learning is therefore not compartmentalised.
In recognition of this, our ethos involves nurturing the childs wholebeing, which we see as being made up of three pillars: Mind, Body and World.
In practice, this means we work hard to create a learning environment in which the children feel free to explore, think for themselves and express their thoughts (Mind).
You want the best for your child, and so do we.
In fact, we cant think of a more important job than the work we do.
We work closely with our caterers to ensure the children in our care eat healthy, well-balanced meals, while accommodating any dietary needs, choices or special requirements.
