At Norwich Montessori School, we are pleased to collaborate with a number of well-known early childhood education providers who offer the greatest extracurricular activities.
Mini Monkey Yoga sessions combine mindfulness warm ups, breathing techniques, yoga poses, yoga games and stories, as well as relaxation time with guided imagery.
Within our sessions we use a variety of colourful props, visual aids and music to increase concentration, participation and add an element of fun to the sessions as most of all Mini Monkey Yoga is FUN!!.
Little Peoples Drama Company enables children to explore the world through role-play with the use of props and stories; these classes encourage confidence sharing friendship and movement.
For more than fifteen years, Margaret has been our school's music instructor, encouraging all of the kids to sing and experiment with musical instruments.
For several years we have been lucky enough to hold our Nativity production at Norwich Cathedral in the Jesus Chapel.
We try to maintain the Christian focus on the story but we acknowledge the need to include children from a wide range of religious faiths, no parent has to feel obliged to include their child.
A favourite Norwich Montessori School tradition, the children help prepare a two course meal.
At the end of the meal we raise some money for the school or a charity by holding a produce and cake auction.
We offer a variety of trips throughout the year to build upon and enhance the topics we have been learning about.
We also offer a summer trip with parents towards the end of the year which is a great way to get together and enjoy each others company.
Dinosaur Park!.
We invite parents to join the children on our annual sponsored walk for Barnardos in the beautiful hidden countryside which surrounds the school.
We also go for walks in the local countryside or get the bus to Earlham Park and the grounds of the University of East Anglia.
World book day enables the children to share with everyone their favourite character from a book.
This popular event gives the children an opportunity to plan with their families who they will be and then share their enjoyment of books with their friends at Montessori.
