We are a sessional preschool that opened in 1994 and runs from 9.15 to 12.45 during the school year. With a high worker ratio of 1:6, we have up to 16 children each morning. What sets us apart and is frequently stated as the basis for recommendations is our welcoming, family-like atmosphere. Several times a year, we have enjoyable outdoor gardening days that include cooking over fires, caring for hens, and lots of muddy activities. All of our staff members are qualified in paediatric first aid and have children; they are either working toward or have achieved Level 3 qualifications. The manager is a qualified early years teacher and holds a BA with honours in early childhood studies. Additionally, she teaches for this qualification. Parents, friends, and members of the extended family are invited to a variety of annual events, such as Sports Day, Easter Egg Hunts with Coffee and Hot Cross Buns, Mother's Day Cafe, Christmas Party, and the Nativity, which is so popular that we have to rent Burpham Village Hall to fit everyone. We received the Bronze Eco School award in 2010 and finished second in Nursery Worlds Pre-school of the Year. We frequently have students learning with us for both long and short periods of time. The nursery has frequently been featured in the local newspaper and on CBBC. We don't request termly donations for art or cooking supplies; instead, our current morning fees of $21 (evaluated annually) include all refreshments and resources.
