The DfE emphasises the necessity of establishing and upholding a strict and explicit expectation that all schools must promote the core British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for people of all faiths and beliefs.
In order to prepare kids for life as responsible citizens, we at SMSP believe it's critical to support their growth not only academically but also spiritually, ethically, socially, and culturally.
At SMSP, our behaviour and how we treat others are based on Christian values.
We appreciate these guiding principles in all their manifestations and acknowledge that they exist in other religions.
British and Christian values are regularly promoted through our extensive curriculum, inclusive approach to high-quality teaching and learning, value-based worship programme, wide range of enrichment activities, strong pastoral support, and positive behaviour policy, all of which ensure that we give our kids a tonne of opportunities to study, experience, and put into practise the fundamental principles of British society.
Mutual Appreciate for One Another and Tolerance of Those with Diverse Religions and Beliefs: Children should learn to respect those around them and exhibit acceptance and tolerance of others who hold different faiths or beliefs than their own.
Additionally, it's important for kids to learn the significance of recognising and rejecting discrimination.
The five main British Values are promoted by SMSP School in a number of methods, some of which are included here.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is implicitly linked to these values (UNCRC).
UN CRC Article 19: Governments must make sure that children are well-cared for and shield them from abuse, maltreatment, and violence by their parents or other caregivers.
Unfortunately, no school can promise that there won't ever be situations that go against core British principles.
However, since extremist views are at odds with the ideals of SMSP School, we will actively oppose any attitudes or actions at school that are in opposition to fundamental British values.
