Every term at GBPS, a VIP Inreach programme is offered to families and kids with vision impairment (VI).
Children with visual impairment (VI) in the preschool and primary grades have the chance to interact, gain confidence, and engage in activities that have been specially tailored for them.
Great Binfields is a specialised resource centre for kids with vision impairment in addition to our excellent mainstream programme (VI).
To assist our VI students, we offer a multitude of IT and other resources.
We are very lucky to be able to provide a sensory curriculum for the children in "The Orchard".
We frequently provide VI awareness training for the staff and students, which is organised in collaboration with the local authority and nonprofit organisations.
By encouraging the kids to live a healthy lifestyle and have regular eye exams, the programmes help advance health education.
While the majority of our VI students are transported to school by taxi, we maintain regular communication with all of the resource base parents via email and a home-school journal.
It is crucial that parents feel involved in their children's education.
To acquire appropriate social and emotional skills, children with vision impairment need additional care.
To help with this, we host a VIP club every week where all the students with VI can gather and engage in cooperative learning activities.
The VIP club is accessible to VI kids in North Hampshire once every term.
Parents who attend these workshops have a terrific chance to network and meet new people.
For the benefit of our kids, Our VI Resource Provision constantly tries to connect with the neighbourhood.
The school collaborates with a number of nonprofit organisations, including Southampton Football Club, Guide Dogs for the Blind, RNIB, Sightsavers, and Open Sight.
Parents and professionals are becoming more familiar with and highly respected with our Resource Provision.
We believe we can provide a high level of support that enables students with VI to fully participate in school life and to thrive in their learning and development.
In order to study the alphabet, operate the Perkin's Brailler, and play Braille Games, some of our students from around the school choose to enrol in and attend a lunchtime Braille club.
