Since we have been operating out of Henleaze Infant School for over 30 years, we have plenty of experience welcoming new families to the club, and we are always eager to do so.
Gee and Jol, our two Early Years keyworkers, have been helping the new Reception students settle in, establish friends, and, of course, have a tonne of fun playing until it's time to go home.
The Reception Playworkers will be wearing their Schools Out blue t-shirts with their names on and will meet your child at their classroom door (the door leading to the hallway with their coat and bag pegs) at the conclusion of the school day.
After eating their snack, students will proceed to the After School Club, which is located near the Dining Hall (where hot dinners are provided at lunch).
As soon as everyone has completed their food, we take the kids outdoors to play.
As a Playworker, Gee joined our team in 2019.
Gee, one of our Reception Keyworkers, finished her Level 2 in Playwork in April 2021.
As a playworker in 2020, Sam joined the group.
Additionally, he has a lot of expertise dealing with kids with disabilities in play environments.
Junior students currently walk to the playground on their own from their classrooms, where our playworkers register them and take them to the infant school dining hall.
Up until 5.15 p.m., kids can choose between indoor and outdoor play. At that time, we invite everyone inside to get ready for the day's conclusion.
We prioritise child-led free play and staff the club with an adult-to-child ratio of eight.
Since we do not have communication with the children's instructors, in the event that a kid does not arrive at the After School Club, the Deputy Manager or Manager will call the parents as soon as possible to confirm the absence.
