In her own house, Cima began a little Montessori child-minding business in 2005.
The founder of the preschool, Cima Shahroudi, developed an interest in Montessori education so that her own children might benefit.
After the former preschool closed, she was requested to open a new one at the Orpington Methodist Church Hall in 2009.
The brand-new preschool, called Orpington Montessori preschool, quickly reached capacity.
Rushmore House Montessori preschool is the new name of the preschool.
Except for the Christmas break, the Orpington Holiday Club is open every school break and half term since it first opened in 2015 during the school summer break.
The kids from both preschools participate in a Forest School every Wednesday by taking use of Birthday Wood's close proximity.
The Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board inspected both preschools in 2015 as part of its accreditation process.
Both preschools succeeded and received their Montessori preschool accreditation.
The two preschools were re-inspected in 2019 and kept their accreditation, continuing to be the only accredited Montessori preschools in Orpington as of this writing.
Today, Rushmore House is a successful Montessori preschool with its own premises in Pratts Bottom hamlet, Orpington.
