The Prebend Preschool Committee approved the aforementioned on May 23, 2012.
Prebend Preschool opened its doors in 1976, and we moved into our current location around 25 years ago. For kids ages 2 to 5, we offer a welcoming, secure, safe, and stimulating environment.
Through a range of child-led and adult-led play activities, children are encouraged to develop socially and emotionally as well as academically, physically, and mentally.
Over the years, there have been a lot of changes. Our Sensory Garden, which we created in 2009, expands the opportunity for daily learning in the outdoors.
In the nearby Sacrista woods area, we started holding weekly Woodland Learning Sessions in 2014.
We started offering longer hours in September 2016, so the preschool is now open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Our sensory area, which provides a variety of sensory resources to promote children's emotional wellbeing, was established in 2022.
The friendly and well-organized setting is a great place for kids to learn. They have access to a variety of services that aid in skill development and get them ready for starting school.
Children especially learn good self-help abilities, confidence, and independence while exploring the outdoors in a woodland setting. This is due to the patience with which staff members encourage youngsters to do tasks on their own and the time they are given to hone their abilities.
