The 1st Yapton and Ford Scout Hut is home to Potter's House, a preschool with an emphasis on the outdoors.
We provide children ages 2 to 5 opportunities, activities, and resources to promote natural development in a setting with an acre of land.
We are a forest school as well, concentrating on language and confidence development in our wonderful outdoor environments.
Our staff's extensive training and combined expertise ensure that your child gets the greatest possible start in life, and we collaborate closely with the neighbourhood schools to ensure that the transition to reception class is always easy and seamless.
The common use area in our preschool facility is great. It is spacious and welcoming, has all the amenities need to keep your children occupied and learning throughout the day, and serves as a true community centre once pre-school is finished for the day.
There is a sizable area outside that the kids can explore at their leisure. We make sure the kids are outside as much as we can since research suggests that having access to outdoor learning helps kids develop more naturally.
Additionally, we have a pre-school-only cabin on the property that is furnished in serene pastel colours and has a plush carpet. This unusual location is used for focus groups and as a quiet area for kids to engage in some targeted learning.
