At Parkside, we are dedicated to preserving and advancing children's wellbeing.
Everyone entering the school, including guests, volunteers, and contractors, must sign in at Reception.
Visitors will be given a badge, which must be displayed openly so that staff members and students can recognise you as a visitor.
Alternately, a staff member will keep an eye on your visit while it is taking place on-site during school hours.
You must obtain permission from the school before taking any images, videos, or audio recordings of any students.
Please make sure the class teacher is informed of any work you are doing with children, including where you are working and for roughly how long.
Make sure you are visible to others when working with children.
Follow the 5Rs and notify one of our certified safeguarding officers or a member of the school's senior leadership team right away if you believe a child may be in danger.
Our website has a copy of the school's safeguarding policy, and there is also a copy in the staff room.
Staff members have the right and are encouraged to question anyone they do not recognise who is on the school grounds.
In return, we ask that you be kind and considerate while on our property. Visitors may expect our personnel to treat them with respect.
Any anybody acting aggressively or disrespectfully will be asked to leave right away.
We always enforce a no-smoking rule.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the school grounds.
To make sure your presence is noted on the attendance list, please report to a member of the administrative staff.
If you or a child needs first aid assistance while at school, please alert a staff member who will dispatch a staff member who is trained in first aid.
It is imperative that you abide by any Health and Safety regulations that may be in effect as a visitor to our school.
The information for visiting contractors and a copy of the asbestos management checklist, both of which are accessible from reception, must be read and understood by contractors in order for them to be completely compliant with the safety laws and regulations that must be followed on the job site.
