When Out There Forest School first opened its doors in August 2015, it offered forest school lessons to schools during the school year, weekly after-school programmes, and a special "holiday club" experience for kids between the ages of 5 and 11.
Out There Kindergarten was created as a consequence of a passion for outdoor education, early childhood education expertise, and a Forest School certification.
After several months of late-night planning meetings, the Out There Kindergarten in Brislington finally opened its doors in September 2017.
Established by a small group of enthusiastic, committed, knowledgeable, and like-minded people, there has always been a total focus to offering the very best early years experience in a setting that is mostly outdoors.
Due to the popularity of the first Out There Kindergarten in Brislington, a second one opened in Stapleton, BS16, in September 2018.
During most school breaks, Out There Forest School continues to offer summer camps in Brislington.

Our kindergartens are both nature based and nature inspired, which means that we spend a large portion of the day outside in nature and that the natural world serves as the foundation of our curriculum.
The idea of Forest Schools was developed in Scandinavia, and it was extensively embraced in Denmark as a remedy for the dearth of indoor facilities for young children.
Since they are run by trained staff in their own grounds or nearby woodlands, forest schools have gained widespread acceptance in the UK as an effective teaching method for students of all ages. Schools, early childhood programmes, environmental initiatives, and community organisations have all adopted them.
As a company, we strictly adhere to the six principles outlined by the FSA.
Principle 1: Rather than being a one-time event, forest school is a long-term practise of frequent and regular lessons in a woodland or natural setting.
At Out there, we think kids should regularly have access to a natural setting that includes a forest.
This requires us to go to the woods at least twice every week, if not more.
Principle 2: In order to foster the growth of a bond between the learner and the natural world, Forest School is conducted in a woods or other naturally wooded setting.
Principle 4: Forest Schools give students the chance to take supported risks that are safe for both themselves and the environment.
In order to build a community for growth and learning, Forest School employs a variety of learner-centered strategies.

Last but not least, a remarkable longitudinal study that was conducted over three years on a group of Key Stage 1 students (aged 5-7) examined the advantages of forest school.
