At Orchard Vale, we think that education should be motivating for all students, whatever of age, and that it should inspire them to be self-assured people who genuinely enjoy learning. A capital bid to build a community primary school for the Whiddon Valley neighbourhood of Barnstaple under the LEA of Devon County Council led to the construction of Orchard Vale Community School in 1999.
On September 13th, 1999, the school welcomed 155 students and a full Nursery.
We strive to provide high quality education through our diverse and balanced curriculum from our Nursery through Year 6 courses so that our students are eloquent, confident, and excited about taking on new challenges.
At Orchard Vale, there are 13 classrooms as well as a nursery and baby facility.
The teachers, teaching assistants, administrators, and kitchen staff at Orchard Vale work together to foster a secure environment where our students can flourish and develop.
Ventrus includes Orchard Vale Community School, which converted to an academy in 2011.
The Trust, which consists of eleven primary schools and one secondary school in Devon, seeks to provide exceptional educational opportunities via teamwork and shared accountability.
Additionally, the Trust has an Executive Leadership team that includes the CEO of the Trust, Mr. Gary Chown, four Executive Headteachers, a Head of HR, and a Head of Finance.
At a local level, the Executive team supervises and encourages school progress for all eleven schools. Ms. Miller-Marshall works to make sure that Orchard Vale continues to offer our students a top-notch education.
Our school's staff and governors gain a lot from working in a family of schools.
The Trust runs Best Practice Networks in a range of Primary Education topics, facets, and stages.
The level of education we can offer at Orchard Vale is significantly impacted by the chance to collaborate with others to advance our own practises as well as those of others.
Children in Ventrus schools frequently have the chance to interact and play with kids from other schools.
Our students benefit from the knowledge and enthusiasm of a huge group of gifted and skilled teachers and assistants, whether it be on a Gifted and Talented day for mathematicians, at a musical performance, or in the sporting arena.
