In 1963, Oak Cottage was founded. In 2019, we registered as a Community Interest Company.
Our management team, which consists of Business Manager and Director Stacey Durrant, Oak Cottage Manager and Director Gemma Bonwick (Bachelor of Arts Degree- Professional Studies in Learning and Development- Brighton University), and Deputy Manager Lisa Harris, is responsible for ensuring the nursery's long-term viability.
'I have been employed at Oak Cottage for 19 years, and I have loved every minute of my time as manager since 2015,' (yes even the tough days). Working with with a wonderful team that collaborates to provide a supportive and caring environment for the infants and kids in our care is a privilege. We are fortunate to be located in a town like Woodingdean because parents have been so supportive of our nursery, and we are now working with the kids whose parents attended the nursery when they were little.

The official standards authority of the government, OFSTED, has registered Oak Cottage Nursery. We have three Outstanding judgments in a row (2007, 2009, and 2015), and our most recent Good judgement (2019) under the new school inspection framework, which reflects our commitment, devotion, and enthusiasm for continual progress.
