The idea of scaffolding is now essential to schooling. It serves as a foundation for describing how adults may help children's learning.
A youngster with scaffolding can complete an activity, solve an issue, or reach a goal that is just out of reach for them.
By modelling, providing hints, and posing questions, it is our responsibility as adults to scaffold and assist children as they work toward independence. As the child approaches mastery, we then gradually withdraw our support.
