The Parent Teacher Association is a welcoming group of parents who give their time to support the school and its staff while also ensuring that all of its students receive the best possible education.
We hold events and activities to raise money for educational initiatives.
Our activities during the course of the 2017–18 academic year helped the school raise a total of $2469.82.
This has aided in funding field trips, school performances and seminars, additional reading materials, and a new PA system.
Our PTA takes pride in making sure the kids have a good time while generating money for the school.
Consider purchasing a ticket for the school lottery.
We were finally treated favourably by the weather, and the rain briefly ceased enough that we could take in yet another magnificent Northern fireworks display.
The field was too soggy from the rain this year, so there was no bonfire, but the pumpkins looked fantastic.
The chocolate tombola was completely sold out in the first hour, and the hot dogs and light sticks were a big hit.
After all costs, we were able to raise 376.
What a huge success the fair was this year!
We were able to raise $1,163 for the school, and the Britannia Coconutters, 2nd Rossendale Scout band, and Fusion Dance and Fitness all gave outstanding performances.
Both kids and adults liked playing the activities, and the lucky bags again sold out in the first 25 minutes.
We had a terrific array of stalls, and our neighbourhood businesses helped out.
On the PTA email address, [email protected], the PTA is glad to receive suggestions for the event for the following year.
Family Quiz Night: With 11 teams participating, our first Family Quiz Night was a lot of fun.
Team Unicorn and Team Wing It and Scarper came top and entered a tense tie breaker question - how many miles long to the nearest mile is the River Nile?
Team Quizzing Bear and Team Clever Cloggs came in third and fourth, respectively.
The next meeting will be held at Anna's upstairs on Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m.
The May Fair planning will be discussed at this meeting.
If you would like more information on becoming an active member of the PTA, please contact Karen Gibbons - Chair of the PTA - either via email ([email protected])or via mobile (07584 162 900).
If all you have is an hour, consider volunteering at a one-time event or helping out with a one-time task like selling raffle tickets at the school plays or publicising a gathering.
