I'm John Stockton, and I'm the chair of the governing board at Murdishaw West Primary School.
I am a councillor that represents Halton Brook in Runcorn, and I am the Liverpool City Region's Lead Member for Bus at the moment.
It is my responsibility to make an effort to make sure that the bus system we have meets the demands of those living in the LCR.
No matter what our strengths are鈥攁cademic, athletic, practical, or performing arts鈥擨 am happy to be the chair of Murdishaw West, where I have always thought that education should free human potential and that it is the responsibility of a school to assist students realise their potential.
The governing body's job is to hold the school accountable on your behalf to make sure the kids get the finest education possible and to push for the highest standards.
The governor's position is frequently defined as that of a critical friend, and that is the function we want to fulfil: that of a board of governors who have the best interests of the students at heart and who keep the senior staff accountable for the success of the school.
I am really fortunate to work closely with a committed group of governors to aid the school.
