At Morgans School, our thinking, learning, and behaviour are guided by a distinct and focused vision.
Our mission, which centres on Guy Claxton's work, is to "Build Learning Power."
For our kids to enjoy learning, be more successful learners, and become lifelong learners, we educate them the formation of values, habits, and traits.
Our seven learning power champions are: communication, creativity, confidence, commitment, teamwork, curiosity, and craftsmanship.
By the time they leave us in Year 6, we hope that our students will have acquired learning habits that they may use throughout the rest of their lives.
Our 7 Learning Champs serve as classroom symbols for our learning powers.
The Learning Champs assist us in identifying and applying the learning strategies we employ.
She will be aware of when to lead and when to follow, when to speak up and when to keep silent.
Our sixth-grader will be skilled at communicating.
He will comprehend the connection between reading and effective communication.
He will be able to actively listen to others and pause and reflect before speaking.
She'll be able to express ideas clearly.
She will be able to address a variety of audiences with confidence and clarity.
He'll be decent and truthful.
She'll have mastered the art of argumentation.
Our Y6 student is creative.
She'll have started to recognise her own creative abilities.
He will be able to find several solutions to puzzles and issues.
She will have developed her higher-order thinking abilities via practise.
She will be able to create original and captivating ideas.
She'll be able to craft her own proposals.
He will be able to speak intelligently and articulately about his own education, course work, and learning.
Our Y6 student is committed.
He will have realised the importance of being dedicated to his work.
She will be capable of learning on her own and have grown to feel responsibility and respect for herself.
She'll experience the satisfaction of victory.
She will understand that oftentimes, worthwhile things do not come easily and will not be afraid of hard labour.
He'll practise self-control.
A craftsman will be our Y6 student.
She will know the pleasures of craftsmanship: how producing work that she can be proud of feels good and will lead to success in many forms.
She will be determined and careful and will think about what she is doing and take time in her work.
