The Middle Park estate and its surrounding neighbourhood in south Greenwich benefit from a wide range of services and assistance provided by the Middle Park Community Centre. For young people, we directly arrange activities, and we have a special project for the community's senior citizens. We also welcome a variety of outside groups. Additionally, you can rent a number of our adaptable event rooms. These are ideal for both adult and child parties and gatherings.
The Middle Park Community Centre has been a vital component of the Middle Park Estate since it first opened its doors in 1982. The centre is referred to be the heart of the neighbourhood since several generations of residents have grown up participating in its programmes for kids and teenagers, some of whom now have paid and volunteer positions there.
The Center is user-led, with a management committee made up of users, locals, and locally elected Royal Borough of Greenwich council members. We were initially established because it was discovered that more than 60% of children in the area came from families receiving Income Support and other benefits. As we have grown, we have been able to offer a wide variety of social, recreational, enjoyable, and health-related activities to the local community.
We currently own three structures on the Middle Park estate: the well-known and beloved Center, the completely renovated St. Bernadettes Church, now appropriately known as Joan Currie Hall, and our incredibly adaptable shop front on Newmarket Green.
We have an open-door policy and offer the community a safety net in times of need.
