Our mission is to raise children who are intellectually, socially, and ethically prepared for life after Mayfield. Social achievement is essential, and it will always be recognised and appreciated. Our goal is to put the values into action. We consider it essential to test this at all social occasions. Our Star of Safety has been developed as a result, and it will be used to track our development and accomplishments during the school week.
Our kids use the safety star below to gauge how they feel about school and other people. Each week, the kids, through the Lunchtime Prefects, assign a safety mark to themselves and recommend the level of award that should be given to everyone as well as any individuals who have been shining examples of star safety. We honour this every Friday with our vision awards. Here is our brand-new, locally themed student-led outdoor magnetic reward display.
Our realistic, adult guide to rewards and sanctions is the Attitude to Learning Matrix, which is available elsewhere on the website. A Star of Safety is our kid-friendly adaptation of this matrix that makes it simple for every student to comprehend and adhere to requirements while being very evident when behaviour deviates from the Star of Safety standard.
Our Mayfield and British Values are put into practise via the Attitude to Learning Matrix and the Star of Safety standard, respectively. Although we think it's crucial that our kids understand these principles, we also think it's necessary for them to be able to successfully and independently put those principles into practise on their own.
