From the Live Wires Club Ltd
We are a licenced nursery and after-school programme that offers care and instruction to kids starting at birth.
We also provide funded places for 2 year olds who meet the eligibility criteria and all 3 and 4 year olds, as well as the extended 15hrs entitlement for children whose parents meet the criteria.
We welcome children with special educational needs and disabilities and want to work with parents to choose a setting that is right for their child.
Our nursery/out of school club (2yrs +) is a purpose built modular building sited within the grounds of Easingwold Community Primary School.
We use the enclosed play area from our nursery building.
Our SENCO, Hannah Dean, has attended SENCO training, attends regular SENCO network meetings and has Ascentis (AptEd) Level 3 Award in Speech and Language Support for Under 5s.
Our Deputy SENCO, Fiona Sinclair has attended SENCO training and is Makaton trained.
Our children are at the centre of what we do and their feelings, interests and progress are our top priority.
All our children within the EYFS framework have a keyworker.
Learning journals are shared with parents and discussed on a regular basis.
Where a child needs additional support, we will work with parents to support them in such a way to help the child make progress.
Parents will be involved with the decisions we make regarding the support we provide for a child with SEND.
Sometimes children need extra support.
If this is the case, our setting (SENCO and keyworker), parents and other professionals who may be involved will plan together to develop an ILPP (Individual Learning & Provision Plan).
In partnership with you, the parents, we will regularly review your childs learning and development and adjust their ILPP accordingly in order to meet their needs.
If a higher level of support is needed, a referral can be sought for additional support or funding from Local Authority Inclusion Officers and the Early Years Advisory Teachers.
We will consult with parents and other professionals supporting a child with SEND to help us identify resources and training.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
