Here at Little Sticks Forest School, welcome!
We are a Wigan-based Forest School that operates entirely outside. Our campus is Aspull RFC.
We wholeheartedly subscribe to the Forest School philosophy, which for us means that play is at the core of our work and that kids should be permitted and encouraged to take charge of their own education.
Our philosophy is that children can learn while engaging with the natural world, knowledgeable staff, woodland structures, literature, etc. Children are free to play and explore the woods environment; they are not obliged to perform activities.
After working for two years in a forest nursery and 10 years as a primary school teacher, I (Danielle) founded The Forest School.
After having such a good experience, I decided to start my own forest school so that as many kids as possible could benefit from everything that forest school has to offer.
On Monday through Friday, we offer full days of classes (8.00 am to 5.00 pm) and half days of classes (12.30 pm to 5.00 pm in the morning and 5.00 pm to 5.00 pm in the afternoon).
If you receive financing but don't think you can pay the extra fee, please get in touch with us to talk about your options.
If your child is enrolled in another location, you can divide the funding as well.
**Please take note that there is still an extra fee for half-day and full-day courses for funded spots.
The Wigan term dates are used for our holiday schedule, and we are open 46 weeks out of the year.
