An independent registered charity and business limited by guarantee, The Linskill and North Tyneside Community Development Trust.
The Linskill Centre (North Shields) asset transfer from North Tyneside Council required the establishment of the Trust in July 2003.
The Trust successfully evolved it into a flourishing community centre serving the people of North Tyneside after completing the asset transfer in April 2006.
The Linskill Centre is regarded as a local success story because it was one of the biggest asset transfers in the nation and the sole asset transfer in North Tyneside.
The Trust has been successful in transforming the centre into a communal building that can support itself financially.
It is possible to see the Trusts Annual Review for 2020–2021, which provides a summary and reflection on significant events, performance, and accomplishments.
The Linskill Centre and its community activities programme receive all of the funds raised by the Trust's business endeavours.
In North Shields, there is a vibrant community centre called The Linskill Centre that offers a space to study, unwind, and participate in activities.
Over 60 individuals are employed by the Trust at the Linskill Centre in a variety of positions, including administration, finance, marketing, community development, catering, maintenance, and the nursery.
The facility has a licenced bar, two large halls, an Ofsted-registered childcare with accommodation for 76 kids, 10 conference rooms, and 20 permanently based tenants that provide support services to North Tyneside.
