From the Lindens Early Years
Lynne Oldfield established The Lindens in 1985. Lynne was able to obtain the Stroud centre building with the help of money from private contributions, and she then launched an early years setting where she worked as a kindergarten teacher for 25 years. The legal entity that owns, maintains, and closely collaborates with the educational establishment is the Gabriel Education Trust.
Originally known as The Lindens Family Centre, the facility provided a kindergarten, parent-child group, parenting programmes, and childbirth education. It has been a dynamic environment for many years, promoting children's healthy growth and offering community and support to local families.
For parents and those interested in learning more about Steiner Early Years education and child development, Lynne Oldfield's book Free to Learn, 2nd Edition is a suitable starting point.
The building had a considerable renovation in 2020, and The Lindens Early Years CIC is now in charge of managing it. We are aiming to bring The Lindens back to life as a Community Interest Company and are dedicated to offering the greatest early childhood education.
At this time, we offer a Kindergarten for children ages 3-6, a Little Kindergarten for kids ages 2 1/2 to 4, and Parent and Child programmes for households with young children.
